TheNOCP The National Organization for College Placement was a non-profit organization that was founded in 2003 to help high school students with College Admissions- focusing on underprivileged communities.
NOCP had established local college chapters throughout the nation. These local chapters made presentations about college admissions in nearby high schools. The organization operated on the giving nature of its many volunteers who come from all religious, ethnic and racial groups and come from all over the country.
NOCP was the alternative to the less fortunate that cannot afford the high priced college consultants and do not receive the needed individualized attention from guidance counselors in overcrowded public schools. Unlike many outreach organizations, NOCP did not focus on test preparation as part its seminars. Instead, its primary objective was to teach college admissions strategies, such as how to analyze college statistics, how to choose between colleges and how to increase ones chance of admissions by knowing how to market an application to a particular college. NOCP was able to do this through its high school presentations.
